Level 05 | FOR ELEVATED-RISK TEAMS

Advanced Specialist Skills Training

Our Level 5 Advanced Specialist Skills Programme is designed for organisations operating in elevated-risk environments where standard physical intervention training alone is not sufficient.

Building on Level 3 foundations, it introduces specialist modules including scenario based training, handcuffing and soft restraints, and defence marker spray – each delivered within a clear legal, ethical and organisational framework.

01Training Overview

Level 5 is intended for organisations that need specialist, high-level capabilities to effectively support staff working in elevated-risk settings.

Level 5 is designed for organisations that need specialist capabilities beyond standard physical intervention training – equipping staff to operate safely and effectively in higher-risk, more complex environments.

Our Level 5 programme includes the full Level 3 course as standard, ensuring every participant develops the same legal, ethical, medical and communication foundations before progressing to specialist content. This means no prior Level 3 training is required.

Level 5 specialist modules – including scenario based training, handcuffing and soft restraints, and defence marker spray – are available individually and can be selected based on your organisation’s specific needs, environment and operational requirements. Each module is independently tailored following a Training Needs Analysis and can be delivered as a standalone addition to Level 3 or as part of a broader specialist development pathway.

06Frequently Asked Questions

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Get in touch and we will answer any questions you may have!

Can Level 5 modules be delivered on their own?
Each Level 5 module requires completion of the full Level 3 programme, which is included as standard. However modules can be selected individually based on your organisation’s specific operational needs — you do not need to take all modules at once.
Why is Level 3 included with Level 5?
Level 3 provides essential legal, ethical, medical, and communication foundations. Level 5 builds on these. Delivering Level 5 without Level 3 would not be safe, consistent, or defensible.
Are Level 5 modules suitable for teams working beyond SIA minimum training?
Yes. Level 5 provides enhanced capability for environments where SIA alone is not sufficient.
Can we choose just one Level 5 module after Level 3?
Yes. Modules are selected based on operational need and can be delivered individually or combined.
Are all practical skills independently medically reviewed?
Yes. All techniques are independently medically reviewed, risk assessed and delivered within clearly defined legal, ethical and professional boundaries.
Can modules be tailored to our environment?
Yes. All modules are adapted following a Training Needs Analysis to ensure content reflects your environment, operational requirements and organisational policy.
Is Level 5 compliant with current legislation and sector expectations?
Yes. All content is aligned with relevant legislation, safeguarding responsibilities and recognised sector guidance, helping organisations demonstrate a safe, proportionate and defensible approach.
How do you maintain safety during advanced practical training?
Practical elements are delivered using clear consent processes, trauma-informed principles and robust safety measures. All activities are closely supervised by experienced instructors to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
What experience do your trainers have?
At Stand2 our trainers are among the most skilled, experienced and credible practitioners in the industry. Each trainer has extensive operational background, advanced instructor qualifications and specialist expertise relevant to high risk and complex environments.

They regularly undergo continuous professional development, medical and legal update training, and rigorous internal quality assurance to ensure every programme is delivered safely, consistently, and to the highest professional standard.

Excellent. Done a few courses over the years regarding conflict management and this was the best. Relaxed teaching and no one was afraid to make a mistake or ask any questions. Enjoyed this much more than my recent SIA renewal in all honesty.

Really thoughtful and experienced teachers. After the training I felt really confident in conflict resolution and physical intervention. Thank you now I know how to protect myself, the general public and my organisation if a situation comes up.

Very well structured course and effectively taught. Techniques and solutions were very helpful.

I recently completed training at Stand2 and had a great experience. The course was well organised, engaging and delivered by Chris C, who explained everything clearly using practical, real-life examples. The training has given me greater confidence in managing conflict, assessing risk, and keeping myself and others safe. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to develop these important skills.
