01COURSE OVERVIEW

An immersive simulation module that puts Level 3 skills under real pressure – in environments that mirror the situations your staff actually face.

Learners apply communication, dynamic risk assessment, least restrictive practice, teamwork, and (where applicable) clinical holding or physical intervention – all within realistic conditions. The emphasis is on safe, ethical decision-making, role clarity, and consistent practice that stands up to audit, safeguarding, and legal scrutiny.

02 THE IMPACT

How this training helps your organisation

  • Converts Level 3 knowledge into reliable performance under pressure
  • Builds team coordination, role clarity, and consistent responses
  • Strengthens defensible decision-making in realistic conditions
  • Reduces errors linked to ambiguity, stress, or role confusion
  • Improves reporting quality and post-incident learning
  • Increases confidence and readiness before deployment

03.RISKS ADDRESSED

Knowledge alone isn’t enough. Without realistic practice under pressure, your teams may not perform when it matters most.

Checklist icon Struggle to apply Level 3 theory effectively under pressure or time constraints
Checklist icon Make non-defensible decisions due to unclear roles or poor team communication
Checklist icon Miss environmental or behavioural cues in dynamic, fast-moving situations
Checklist icon Use inconsistent approaches across teams, shifts, or operational environments
Checklist icon Under-report key details that affect safeguarding, governance, and organisational learning

The good news is that this is entirely preventable. That’s what this module is for.

04 LEARNING OUTCOMES

Here’s what your staff will be able to do differently:

Describe how conflict management principles apply in dynamic, real-world situations.
04 LEARNING OUTCOMES

Here’s what your staff will be able to do differently:

  1. 01 Describe how conflict management principles apply in dynamic, real-world situations.
  2. 02 Recognise behavioural, environmental, and situational cues that influence risk and decision-making.
  3. 03 Explain techniques for managing stress and reducing cognitive load
  4. 04 Explain how organisational policies and professional standards guide responses to conflict.
  5. 05 Explain and justify their actions.
  6. 06 Record and report critical incidents and near misses.
05 CASE STUDY

St George’s, University of London – Department of Paramedic Science

Stand2 collaborated with the St George’s University Department of Paramedic  Science to design a combined package: Level 3 Advanced Conflict Management &  Clinical Holding plus a Level 5 Scenario Based Training module. Working closely  with faculty, we developed sector specific scenarios in an ambulance simulator,  an open area simulating roadside activity, and in mocked up kitchen and  bedroom environments.

Students practised structured communication, dynamic risk assessment, team  coordination, and least restrictive clinical holding in lifelike conditions. This  approach enabled learners to stress test decision-making, refine role clarity, and  build confidence before frontline placements – bridging the gap between theory  and practice safely and ethically.

06 Course Delivery & Assessment

Controlled, risk-assessed simulations – built around the environments and situations your staff actually face.

Delivery

This module is delivered in person through controlled, risk-assessed simulations built around your organisation’s specific environment, risks, and procedures. Facilitation includes structured pre-briefs, role clarity exercises, robust safety protocols, and structured debriefs. Every module is designed following a Training Needs Analysis to ensure scenarios are directly relevant to your operational context. StandPoint, our online learning platform, supports the module with additional resources and materials.

Assessment

Learning is assessed through observation, participation, scenario performance, and reflective contribution. Assessment focuses on how staff apply Level 3 principles in realistic, dynamic conditions – not on theoretical knowledge.

Certification

Every participant who successfully completes the module is formally certified by Stand2, receiving a uniquely numbered certificate that confirms they have met the module’s assessed standards. Each delegate is entered onto the Stand2 Training Register, which we maintain on your behalf – giving your organisation a clear, auditable record of who has completed the module.

Training environment

Psychological and physical safety are prioritised throughout. All practical elements are closely supervised and trauma-informed, with clear consent and opt-out options at every stage.

07.Frequently asked questions

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Call us or drop us a message.

Can scenarios be built around our specific sector, environment, and policies?
Yes. Every module is designed following a Training Needs Analysis to reflect your organisation’s specific environment, operational risks, and procedures. Scenarios are built around the situations your staff actually face – not generic exercises that require mental translation to be useful.
Does this module introduce new physical skills?
No. This module consolidates and stress-tests Level 3 skills that participants have already been trained in. It does not introduce new physical techniques. Any additional skills beyond the Level 3 programme require separate assessment, approval, and training.
Is this module suitable for mixed discipline teams?
Yes. Scenario Based Training is particularly effective for reinforcing joint working, role clarity, and coordinated team responses across different disciplines – clinical, operational, and support roles working together in realistic conditions.
How do you ensure simulations are safe?
Every simulation is designed using robust risk assessment, trauma-informed facilitation, clear consent, and close supervision throughout. Scenarios are controlled environments – challenging enough to be realistic but structured to ensure the physical and psychological safety of every participant.
Who is this module designed for?
This module is designed for staff who have already completed Stand2’s Level 3 Advanced Conflict Management & Physical Intervention or Clinical Holding programme and need the opportunity to apply those skills in realistic, high-fidelity scenarios. It is not suitable as a standalone module for staff without prior Level 3 training.
Can the module be delivered as part of the annual Level 3 refresher?
Yes. Scenario Based Training can be integrated into the annual Level 3 refresher cycle – providing staff with both the skills refresher and the realistic practice opportunity in the same delivery. This is the most efficient and effective way to maintain peak performance across teams.
How long does the module take?
The duration is tailored to your organisation’s requirements, environment, and the number of scenarios to be covered. Stand2 will agree the duration as part of the Training Needs Analysis process. Typical delivery ranges from a half day to a full day depending on team size and scenario complexity.
Does Stand2 training come with a certificate?
Yes. Every participant who successfully completes the module is formally certified by Stand2 and issued with a uniquely numbered completion certificate. Each delegate is also entered onto the Stand2 Training Register, which we maintain on your behalf – providing your organisation with a clear, auditable record of who has completed the module.

Excellent. Done a few courses over the years regarding conflict management and this was the best. Relaxed teaching and no one was afraid to make a mistake or ask any questions. Enjoyed this much more than my recent SIA renewal in all honesty.

Really thoughtful and experienced teachers. After the training I felt really confident in conflict resolution and physical intervention. Thank you now I know how to protect myself, the general public and my organisation if a situation comes up.

Very well structured course and effectively taught. Techniques and solutions were very helpful.

Very good! Other security companys should learn this Easy to learn

Fantastic course, gave a really easy to remember process for handling conflict management. Trainers were great, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Really course, tutors were great especially Chris who made it fun and interactive

Really enjoyed the training Dave and Chris are very engaging

Engaging PowerPoint, really good instructors, time to practice techniques

I recently completed training at Stand2 and had a great experience. The course was well organised, engaging and delivered by Chris C, who explained everything clearly using practical, real-life examples. The training has given me greater confidence in managing conflict, assessing risk, and keeping myself and others safe. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to develop these important skills.
