01What our healthcare training addresses.
Reducing Violence, Aggression & Incidents
Healthcare staff face physical assault, verbal abuse, and aggressive behaviour as a routine occupational risk. Our programmes give teams the conflict management and de-escalation skills to recognise warning signs early, manage emotionally heightened situations safely, and reduce the frequency and severity of workplace incidents.
Protecting Staff Wellbeing & Confidence
Unpredictable patient behaviour, distress, and confrontation take a significant toll on healthcare professionals. Training that builds genuine confidence – not just compliance – helps staff respond calmly and proportionately, reducing anxiety and building the resilience needed to sustain a career in high-pressure care environments.
Improving Safety in Complex Care Environments
Lone working, cognitive impairment, intoxication, and family conflict present specific risks that generic training doesn't address. Our programmes are built around the real situations healthcare staff encounter – giving them practical frameworks to stay safe without compromising care.
Supporting safe, Ethical & Defensible Practice
When an incident leads to a safeguarding review, regulatory investigation, or coroner's inquest, the question is always whether the response was proportionate, least-restrictive, and professionally accountable. Our training is designed to ensure it is – and to give your staff the confidence to act decisively when it matters most.

Why is conflict management and physical intervention training particularly important for healthcare organisations right now?
Violence against NHS staff has reached a three-year high. According to the 2025 NHS Staff Survey – completed by approximately 760,000 NHS workers – nearly one in seven staff reported being physically attacked by a patient or member of the public in the previous year, the highest rate recorded in three years. The Health Secretary has described protecting staff from violence as “not an optional extra,” and the London Assembly Health Committee wrote to both the Metropolitan Police Commissioner and the Secretary of State in March 2026 calling for urgent action on rising violence against healthcare workers in the capital. For healthcare organisations, the duty of care obligation to protect staff from foreseeable violence is clear – and conflict management and physical intervention training is one of the most direct ways to meet it.
How do you ensure the training is psychologically safe for staff who have experienced trauma or serious incidents?
We understand that some healthcare professionals may have experienced difficult or traumatic situations during their careers. That’s why all of our training is delivered using a trauma-informed approach, with clear choice, flexibility and support throughout. No one is ever expected to share personal experiences or take part in activities they feel uncomfortable with.
Will this training stand up to scrutiny from regulators, coroners, or internal investigations?
Yes. Our frameworks emphasise proportionate, ethical, and least-restrictive decision-making aligned with NHS governance, safeguarding duties, and professional standards (NMC, GMC, HCPC).
How do you ensure physical skills are clinically appropriate and medically safe?
All physical skills are independently medically reviewed by an emergency medicine consultant and fully risk assessed by an experienced NEBOSH-level health and safety practitioner. Each technique is designed to minimise risk, avoid pain-compliance and prioritise dignity, safety and least-restrictive practice at all times.
Is the training suitable for both clinical and non-clinical teams in healthcare?
Yes. While the core principles remain consistent, training is tailored to reflect the specific challenges faced by different healthcare professionals. For example, scenarios for frontline clinicians, ambulance crews and emergency department staff will differ from those used for reception teams, community healthcare workers, call handlers, security personnel or non-clinical support staff. This ensures the training remains relevant to each role while promoting a consistent approach to conflict management, personal safety and patient care across the organisation.
Is this training suitable for NHS trusts and healthcare organisations?
Absolutely. Our training is delivered across a wide range of healthcare settings, including NHS trusts, ambulance services, hospitals, primary care providers and community healthcare teams. Programmes can be tailored to reflect the unique challenges, policies and operational requirements of your organisation, ensuring the training is practical and effective.

Excellent. Done a few courses over the years regarding conflict management and this was the best. Relaxed teaching and no one was afraid to make a mistake or ask any questions. Enjoyed this much more than my recent SIA renewal in all honesty.

Really thoughtful and experienced teachers. After the training I felt really confident in conflict resolution and physical intervention. Thank you now I know how to protect myself, the general public and my organisation if a situation comes up.
