Who Should Attend Conflict Management Training?
Conflict management training is for any staff who deal with the public, colleagues, or service users in situations where tension or unpredictable behaviour could arise, not just security or frontline roles. That includes receptionists, healthcare staff, housing officers, retail and hospitality workers, transport staff, and lone workers, along with the managers and supervisors responsible for their safety.
The right course depends on the level of risk. Staff who mainly face verbal tension and early-stage conflict typically need an awareness-level course, while those in situations with a foreseeable risk of physical harm need training that also covers personal safety and breakaway skills, which is what Stand2's Conflict Management & Personal Safety course, our most popular programme, is built for.
The case for training is not hypothetical. Recent workplace violence statistics put the figure at an estimated 689,000 incidents across UK workplaces in 2024/25 alone, a scale that touches most public-facing teams sooner or later.
