EDUCATION & LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
Ofsted looks closely at how schools manage behaviour. So do we.
Schools, colleges, and specialist learning environments face a level of scrutiny that has intensified significantly in recent years. Staff are expected to manage challenging behaviour safely, de-escalate effectively, and – where necessary – use physical intervention that is proportionate, lawful, and fully documented. Stand2 has worked with education settings across the UK to develop the skills, confidence, and frameworks that make that possible.
Education staff are increasingly required to manage behaviour that is complex, unpredictable, and sometimes dangerous – in environments where their decisions are subject to scrutiny by Ofsted, local authorities, parents, and the media. Our training gives teachers, support staff, and specialist educators the skills to respond effectively, the confidence to act when needed, and the documentation frameworks to demonstrate that every intervention was necessary and proportionate.
We work with mainstream schools, SEND settings, PRUs, further education colleges, and specialist learning environments across the UK. Every programme is built around the specific context your staff work in – the student population, the behaviour challenges you face, and the regulatory requirements that apply to your setting. Our approach reduces risk, improves outcomes, and gives your team the professional confidence to do their jobs safely.

Our education courses.
Teachers and education support staff need more than theoretical awareness of behaviour management. They need practical skills, tested under realistic conditions, that they can apply confidently in the moment. Our programmes develop that capability through scenario-based learning built around the realities of the education environment.
Why education organisations choose Stand2.
The Swimming Teachers’ Association
Helping people learn life-saving skills requires more than technical expertise. It requires professionals who can build trust, communicate effectively and create positive learning environments. The Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) has been supporting this mission for more than 90 years, providing qualifications, professional development and training for swimming and leisure professionals across the UK and beyond.
While delivering high-quality learning experiences remained the priority, staff were increasingly finding themselves managing difficult conversations, heightened emotions and challenging behaviours alongside their teaching responsibilities. Whether dealing with frustrated participants, concerned parents or emotionally charged situations, there was a growing need for a consistent approach that would help staff feel confident, professional and in control when challenges arose.
Stand2 worked closely with STA to deliver tailored conflict management training designed around the realities of learner-focused environments. Through practical techniques, realistic scenarios and clear communication frameworks, staff developed the skills to recognise early signs of escalation, respond appropriately under pressure and maintain positive relationships while upholding standards and expectations.
Following the training, staff reported feeling more confident when handling challenging interactions and maintaining professional boundaries in difficult situations. The programme helped strengthen communication, improve consistency across teams and provide staff with practical strategies they could apply immediately, creating safer, more positive experiences for both learners and colleagues.
Feedback has been strongly positive:
- “Stand2 are the experts in conflict management… this high-quality training helps you deal with challenging situations in a professional, calm and safe manner.”
Luke Griffiths & Helen Done – STA Qualifications and Business Development Managers - “The programme provided strategies and solutions for managing different types of conflict in the workplace.” –Camilla Golledge, Swimming Teacher, Tutor & STA Brand Ambassador
