Despite being violently attacked and beaten by a pupil 3 years ago which left him with four metal plates in his head and another savage beating by a parent who throttled and punched him in his office Headmaster Kieran Heakin has vowed to carry on teaching. He is devoted to his pupils and says that he refuses to be driven out of the job he loves, because the ‘wow factor’ he experiences when a pupil succeeds makes it all worth worthwhile.
