1st December 2013 16% Decrease in Violent Assaults for West Midlands Ambulance Service Staff

In contrast to the previous article (regarding a 6% increase on assaults on NHS staff) it is nice to see that once again following the 12 month round of training delivered by Stand2 the trust has reccorded a significant decrease in assaults on staff. This reflects the experience of the previous round of training provided to the trust. The feedback from both management and staff has been overwhelmingly positive and this is in no small part thanks to the help, support and guidance provided by WMAS trust. This collaborative approach allowed us to draw on the expertise and experience of both organisations to produce a model of best practice. Particular thanks are due to Julian Rhodes (Head of Education and Training) for his continued support and to the more photogenic members of staff who assisted with the production of the training materials.
