Case study: C2C

C2C is a British train operating company owned by National Express. It has operated the London, Tilbury & Southend (now Essex Thameside) passenger franchise since May 1996.

C2C is committed to ensuring the personal safety of their workforce, in particular their revenue protection inspectors and gate line staff who are often faced with circumstances which make them susceptible to emotional outbursts resulting in aggression and violence.

Due to the number of incidents of aggression and violence against staff, and recently a stabbing incident. Stand2 was asked to provide training to their workforce in avoidance and conflict management strategies. This training is on-going and has proved very successful in contrast to previous conflict management training programmes delivered to C2C staff by other providers
